Victoria & Robert’s adventure engagement session started with a 2-hour ATV ride across the frozen Alaska terrain out to Knik Glacier, where we’d take all the photos. The only way to get there was atop the Knik River, frozen with three feet thick of ice. I was stunned, passing over the last hill that revealed the massive ice field in front of us. We continued over the frozen Lake George towards the base of the glacier. Beneath our feet, I heard cracking and the slow rumble of ice moving. It was a humbling experience. The crisp 10-degree air chilled us straight to the bone and made it difficult to operate the buttons of the camera. I can’t imagine how cold Victoria must have been in that dress. Kudos to these two for braving the Alaskan cold to capture these unique engagement photos. Words cannot express how the magnificence this session was. I also had the pleasure of photographing their summer wedding in Alaska, later in the year. Do you have an exciting adventure idea for your engagement or elopement session? Let’s chat about it!
