Water Mission provides solutions for those who live in communities around the world that lack safe water and sanitation and those who are suffering as a result of a disaster or emergency situation.
Water Mission is a team of builders. As engineers, marketers, implementers, fundraisers, volunteers, and donors, each person involved is building an important piece of a solution that lasts. Each engineering plan, pipe fitting, and installation is a piece of a solution that God is using to place communities around the world back to where He intended them to be. Water Mission believes they are following His blueprint. God never intended for some to have safe water and others to suffer. So each of their actions—in partnership with yours—adds up to lives saved.
Water Mission believes that the global water crisis can be solved and they take a comprehensive approach to combating the crisis with water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions. They design customized solutions for each community they serve and they partner with the recipients throughout the process. A successful project results in more time for work and education, improved health, and increased productivity for the community.
Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico on September 20th, and most of the island’s residents continue to lack access to electricity and clean water. Water Mission is currently responding to the dire need for safe water in the following ways:
- Water Mission is working with the EPA and FEMA to address the needs of over 200 rural communities in Puerto Rico that have water systems managed by the Department of Health.
- To date, Water Mission has successfully provided safe water in eleven communities, and they are completing assessments as quickly as possible every day.
- Water Mission has four staff members on the ground working around the clock in difficult conditions to meet the needs of people in these communities often referred to as “the forgotten mile.”
Please pray for the people of Puerto Rico and for the Water Mission staff as they work to serve those in dire need. To join the response efforts, please donate now.
